Nowadays, everyone is talking about LLMs, GenAI, and Agentic AI as the next big thing. Indeed, the successful applications of LLM-technology to automate all kinds of manual tasks are manyfold. This is what we call AI augmentation: human workers augmented with GenAI-technology. In this presentation, we zoom in on the AI augmentation of data engineering that can be achieved with existing tools and frameworks. We show examples of how they can be used in practice to optimize your data engineering workflow. We also discuss lessons learned (both do's and don'ts) from our own experiences and projects.
