The Winning Number Game
Jop Beuger

Can data predict a championship? Or more importantly: can it prevent an injury before it happens, or deliver the right tactical call at the right moment?
The Winning Number Game is about how elite sport is increasingly shaped by the numbers behind the scenes, from talent identification to load management to in-game tactical decisions. Drawing on his own experience in international elite sport, this session shows how teams turn data into decisions that can tip the balance of matches and seasons, and what it takes to actually trust that data. Moneyball is no longer a utopia, it’s reality. From raw performance data to decisions coaches rely on every day: this is what that looks like in practice.
