September 9 & 10, 2026
This was Data Expo 2026

Data and AI are no longer a distant prospect, reserved for a handful of pioneers. They are now woven into the daily operations of an increasing number of Dutch organizations. And we’re seeing it! Because this year, too, interest in Data Expo skyrocketed.

Not even a nationwide train strike and road construction could keep visitors from fully immersing themselves in the data community. On September 9 and 10, no fewer than 6,321 professionals gathered at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, setting a new attendance record. The result: two days of a bustling exhibition floor, packed halls, and, above all, plenty of great conversations.

Connection with the Community

Anyone walking through the exhibition hall quickly realized that Data Expo wasn’t just about as many sales pitches as possible. The atmosphere was primarily one of sharing knowledge: meeting each other, running into old acquaintances, making new connections, and hearing how others deal with the same data and AI challenges.

In between substantive discussions, you could play a round of XL Jenga at Nippur, play a game of Pong at Xebia, and see Soverin’s pigeon mascot wandering the exhibition floor. Need a new profile picture? At Circle One, you could upgrade your LinkedIn profile on the spot with a professional portrait. At Conscia, the aroma of fresh stroopwafels greeted you as you approached, and at SUSE, visitors walked away a little later with a green chameleon plush toy tucked under their arm. Data—boring? Anyone who walked through the Jaarbeurs over these two days knows better.

More Women in Data

Last year, we also worked hard on a new initiative: Woman @ Data Expo. At booth #5 at the Jaarbeurs, ten women’s communities joined forces to attract more women to tech and retain them in the sector.

“We want to connect women in IT and give voice to women’s perspectives. Men simply think differently; they’re wired differently. We all benefit from a better reflection of society in IT products.”

Carina de Vries | Dutch Women in Tech

Use cases, use cases, use cases

In addition to all the inspiration, interactive activities, and great conversations at the booths, there was, above all, a tremendous amount to learn. And learning was exactly what the Data Expo audience wanted. With an average of xx seats filled per session, the rooms were well-attended on both days.

The topics? They came straight from everyday practice. From storytelling and setting up pilots more efficiently to context, AI agents, governance, legal, and compliance. Not just talking about what data and AI might one day mean, but showing what’s already happening today, the challenges organizations are facing, and—perhaps even more importantly—what we can learn from them.

“I would definitely recommend Data Expo to people who work with data. We spend a lot of time in front of our computers, so it’s important to step away from that, connect with the community, understand our own role, and compare it to what others are doing.”

"Many platforms are similar, but the presentations definitely made it worth it. There were a few really inspiring sessions. For example, the session on SEO and GEO. I think that's where we can grow the most."

Spotted at Data Expo

We’ll have to wait another whole year for the next edition, but luckily we still have the photos! During Data Expo, several photographers were on hand to capture all the great moments.

Were you at Data Expo? Check out the photos and see if you made it into any of them!

Coming Soon

The best results come when data and business come together.

At Data Expo, we want to bring those worlds closer together. That’s exactly the idea behind this series. Not a story about the user or the producer, but a conversation between the two.

Curious? Check out the previous episodes in the series.
