Martin Woodward
Global Responsible AI Officer
Martin Woodward is an in-house attorney-at-law and a leader in the emerging field of artificial intelligence law. He is passionate about the intersection between law, technology and digital innovation.
In April 2023, Martin joined Randstad, the world’s largest talent company, as Director Global Legal and member of the Global Legal Leadership Team. In November 2024, he additionally assumed the role of the company's first Global Responsible AI Officer, leading the implementation of an enterprise-wide AI governance program. In close collaboration with the company’s Global IT and Global Procurement functions, he and his team are responsible for all global commercial and IT contracting (e.g. hardware, software, cloud, professional services), providing legal support to large-scale IT projects, and issuing guidance to the business on technology-related legal challenges.
Martin has been admitted to the Netherlands' Bar Association (Orde van Advocaten) since 2005. In addition, he is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the Netherlands’ Association for In-House Counsels (Nederlands Genootschap voor Bedrijfsjuristen), where he chairs the working group on digitisation. Martin is the co-founder of the Responsible AI Roundtable in The Netherlands and a member of the Advisory Board of the London, UK-based Responsible AI Summit. Finally, Martin is a member of several professional organisations in the field of IT and AI law (Nederlandse Vereniging voor AI en Robotrecht, Nederlandse Vereniging voor Informatietechnologie en Recht, Vereniging van AI-Advocaten).
