Petra werkt sinds 2002 in de ICT, begonnen als software engineer, daarna kwaliteitsconsultant en sinds 2012 bij Fontys Hogeschool ICT als docent-onderzoeker. Petra is gepromoveerd (kwaliteit van agile requirements) en doet sinds februari 2019 onderzoek naar AI Engineering: het bouwen van betrouwbare AI systemen. Petra geeft regelmatig lezingen en is auteur van diverse publicaties.
