Senior Data Governance & Data Quality Officer
Remy van der Vlist is a Data Quality & Governance Officer at PGGM, a not-for-profit cooperative pension fund service provider, where he works within the Data Management Office focused on the Investment Management business unit. With nearly two decades of experience in the financial sector spanning leadership roles, data governance frameworks, data quality management, and change management, he brings both strategic and hands-on expertise to the field.
In his current role, Remy leads the operationalisation of federated data governance within a Data Mesh architecture. He is responsible for defining and maintaining data governance roles, responsibilities, and structures, designing and implementing data governance and data quality frameworks, and enabling data (product) owners and stewards across the organisation, all while driving alignment between governance principles and day-to-day practice.

PGGM chose Data Mesh as the foundation of its Strategy 2030 to scale trusted, domain-driven data ownership across the organisation.
