Rients Dotinga werkt bij de coöperatie DataFryslân U.A. en studeerde toegepaste wiskunde aan NHL Stenden Hogeschool te Leeuwarden. Toegepaste wiskunde gaat om het toepassen van wiskundige kennis en vaardigheden op complexe praktijkproblemen. Die problemen kom je overal in de maatschappij tegen en op allerlei gebieden. Op dit moment houdt Rients zich bezig met applied AI.
