As AI becomes more and more present and conversational interfaces replace standard data views a lot of leaders find themselves asking: do we even need dashboards anymore? And while many who are quick to answer “no” may be dismissed as nostalgic and resistant to change, cognitive science teaches us that we should not abandon visual analytics just yet. I argue that the question shouldn’t be dashboard or AI, but how to make them work together.
