Modular Working with a Knowledge- and Data Platform: Building Blocks for a Flexible Ecosystem

Data & AI Engineering Lead
Modular working requires more than just technical components — it demands an underlying ecosystem in which data and knowledge are available in a coherent manner. UMC Utrecht is building an integrated knowledge- and data platform that serves as the foundation for such an ecosystem. By enriching patient- and process data with the right interpretation, each application can provide the user with a complete view of the patient. Additionally, an application can easily write new data back to the data platform, as the interpretation and thus the interoperability are managed by the knowledge- and data platform. In this ecosystem, data is paramount for interoperability, not the applications — let alone that one application should lead the rest.
